CULTURE AND LANGUAGES: SuperMemo
Tuesday, January 7
źródło obrazka: e-doradca.infoThe long weekend has just finished and it’s time to back to learning! Today a few words about method which can be used to learn foreign languages. It’s SuperMemo which was invented in 1985 in Poland. It was created by two scientists which weren’t linguists. One of them is a biologist and programmer – Piotr Woźniak, second one – doctor and biochemists, Edward Jacek Gorzelańczyk. Both of them are PhD at Poznan University of Medical Science. SuperMemo is a computer programme but not typical – it uses the properties of forgetting curve. The scientists discovered and described the algorithm of it and thanks to that, the method can be used now. So what SuperMemo is?
It’s based on the information that material can be remembered when it’s given in proper time intervals. Intervals are connected with the forgetting curve. The breaks are reduced to maximum so memory track can’t be forgotten. Repeating is based on the special model which causes that information which we learn can’t disappear. In one word – they are reminded in the adequate time.I think that this method has only advantages :)1. It’s for everyone: regardless of age, individual predispositions, place of living, etc.2. During first month of study you can learn basic vocabulary of any language.3. According to the authors it allows to assimilate information faster than other methods (it doesn’t surprise me – everybody wants and believes that his methods are the best ;))4. It can be used in many ways – software is available for Windows, Pocket PC, Palm OS and iOS, you can also use your web browser.5. SuperMemo UX is free, only commercial courses are paid (but still the price is not too high).6. It’s appreciated by many experts around the world.7. It wins awards in prestigious competitions.8. It makes repeating easier – it should be memorized and repeated at the proper moment.9. It is universal and used throughout the world.10. It can be used to memorizing vocabulary and practicing them. For me it’s great! :)Autor: Unknown Etykiety: CULTURE AND LANGUAGES , LANGUAGES | Email This BlogThis! Share to X Share to Facebook |
